Supporters and shareholders of Aston Villa have joined together to fight what they see as the "endless cycle of under-achievement" their club has suffered for the past 20 years.
Press Release - 6th April 2004.
New Faces - Same Old Problems
VFC welcome Bruce Langham to the club but unfortunately fail to be convinced with Mr Ellis 'stepping down' as Chief Executive that anything will change. When VFC first formed we called for a roots and branch change at the club. The branches may well have changed but the roots remain the same and after 22 years of running the club his way, the fans aren't fooled by this appointment.
VFC remain convinced that this club needs a new and dynamic board in order to attract the quality of players that we need in order to not only challenge for honours but to convince players and managers alike, that their future lies at Aston Villa - and to ensure that we are no longer a stepping stone to 'more ambitious' clubs.
Mr Ellis has fooled very few by his latest actions and change will not come about whilst he is still involved at Aston Villa. As long as Mr Ellis remains the major shareholder there will remain only one man running the club despite the spin that emanates from B6.
